National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) President Dileepbhai Sanghani has been re-elected unopposed as the director on the board of Germany headquartered International Raiffeisen Union (IRU) during its General & Board Meetings held on 6th October, 2023.
Congratulating Sanghani on becoming the director, the official twitter handle of NCUI reads, “Hearty congratulations to NCUI President! His inspirational leadership & dedication for the growth & development of Indian cooperatives have earned the trust of members around the world”.
Besides Sanghani, ICNW President Nandini Azad was also elected as the director on the board of IRU from India. It is her second term.
Guy Hoffmann from Banque Raiffeisen Luxembourg has been elected as the new IRU President, succeeding Franky Depickere from Cera.
International Raiffeisen Union (IRU) is a voluntary organization of worldwide national cooperative organizations which work on the ideas of Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisens principles i.e., self-responsibility, self-democracy & self-administration.
With 53 member organisations spanning 33 countries across the globe, including Switzerland, Austria, France, Netherlands, Kenya, and India, IRU plays a pivotal role in advancing cooperative ideals and practices on a global scale.
