Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank Chairman Devendra Shyam and Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank Chairman Waibha K Kyndiah have been elected unopposed as the Vice-Chairmen of the apex body of state cooperative banks-Nafscob, in an election held on Tuesday.
It is noteworthy that Nafscob held the elections for the vacant posts, which includes two of Vice-Chairman and five for directors.
The Nafscob board consists of 21 directors but in the last election the five seats for director went vacant, for which the elections were held on Tuesday.
The other five directors who secured a berth on the Nafscob board included, Haryana State Cooperative Bank Chairman Hukum Singh Bhati, Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank Chairman Chairman Devendra Shyam, Kerala State Cooperative Bank Chairman Gopi Kottamurickal, Anupam Mukhopadhyay, Special Officer, West Bengal State Cooperative Bank and Ambika Prasad Das, Director, Odisha State Cooperative Bank.
The all elected directors will continue till the end of the current tenure of BoD, which is to come to an end sometime in 2025.
