In his address, Amit Shah said “IFFCO is working to strengthen cooperatives in the country through more than 35,000 cooperative societies. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to create two lakh new Primary Agriculture Credit Society in the country; PACS will be formed in every panchayat”, he added.

Lauding the Prime Minister, Shah said Narendra Modi has fulfilled the decades-old demand of the country’s farmers by forming a separate Ministry of Cooperation. Modi has also come up with more than 20 schemes to strengthen the Primary Agriculture Credit Society (PACS) in the country, he added.

He further added, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has formed three new cooperative societies so that the farmers get good seeds, they can export their produce and the farmers doing organic farming can move forward.

Besides, PM has worked as a ‘Kisan Mitra’ by sending Rs 6000 through DBT to the bank accounts of farmers across the country. The Centre has come up with several schemes for the benefit of the farmers through digital means, Shah underlined.

He said that the agriculture budget of the previous government was about Rs 22000 crores, which Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has increased by 6 times to 125000 crores. Earlier, loans worth Rs 7 lakh crores were provided to the farmers, which has been increased to Rs 20 lakh crores by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Shah said that the production of food grains in the country was 265 million tonnes, which has now reached 323 million tonnes. Wheat procurement was 251 lakh metric tonnes, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi has increased to 433 lakh metric tonnes. Along with this, the MSP of wheat has been increased from Rs.1400 to Rs.2100 by the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The government has increased the MSP of Mustard from Rs 3050 to Rs 5400.

Shah also used the occasion to celebrate the massive success of Chandrayaan 3 and said Chandrayaan-3 mission has brought new energy and confidence to the entire nation as no other country has reached the southern pole so far.

In his speech, IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi informed the participants about the IFFCO Nano Urea and DAP. The IFFCO’s nano range of products not only increase the quality, productivity of crops but also are cheaper than the cost of a bag of conventional urea.
