There is a need for establishment of a Cooperative University to firmly deepen the foundations of cooperative movement in the country. Efforts are being made in this direction”, said Amit Shah in the Rajya Sabha while replying to a query raised by Rajya Sabha member Brijlal.
In his query, Brijlal asked whether the government is considering establishing a cooperative university in the country.
In his speech during the passage of the Multi State Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Bill in Lok Sabha on Tuesday, the Union Home and Cooperation Minister also touched upon setting up a cooperative university.
He said, “Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has also decided to set up a cooperative university for cooperative education in the coming days. The National Cooperative Database will also be inaugurated soon by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi”.
