Speaking recently at a function at Lok Seva Bhawan, Bhuvaneshwar, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that nearly 60 percent of credit is being given to farmers through cooperative bodies in the state, reports PTI.
According to the chief minister, the second phase amount was given against the loans given by cooperative banks and 2,409 primary agricultural cooperative societies.
Speaking on this occasion, Cooperation Minister Atanu Sabyasachi said that the state government is working with commitment for the uplift of the farmers with cooperatives playing an important role.
