Tucked away in a serene locale in the neighbourhood of Bareilly town of Uttar Pradesh, IFFCO’s urea production unit in Aonla is ready to acquire a new profile. It is going to be the second Nano Urea Production Centre after Kalol sooner than later.
While a dedicated team of Nano urea engineers are busy giving finishing touches to the Nano Plant to meet the deadline of December 15 when the first batch of 60,000 bottles of Nano Urea would be churned out, the full-blown capacity of the Nano Plant is much more.
Unit Head and the man entrusted with the project, Rakesh Puri revealed that in the beginning two Reactors would be activated, churning about 30% production of the overall capacity. “As things settle down and the men and machines get used to the routine, this will be scaled up to full capacity”, Puri stated.
A trip to the Nano production site at Aonla reveals that all the customized machines have already arrived and are being set up. Reactors are being installed, an automated bottling subunit of Nano urea liquid is ready. Huge racks or storages where robots would place each box of Nano urea containing 24 bottles each has been placed. Even the master control room to oversee and control operations is ready.
Though Puri Saheb has given us free hand to achieve the target, he himself is unable to resist visiting the site twice a day”, said Joint GMs, Pradip Sharma and Mukesh Khaitan, engineers overseeing minute to minute progress of the Plant. They lauded the leadership of Puri, who is engaged with the project deeply and has yet delegated the power to take decisions to his team members.
Soft and mild-mannered Rakesh Puri explains how for the conventional urea Plant, IFFCO Aonla uses about 600 acres of dedicated land, while the entire Nano set up including its reactors, bottling, and storage is confined to merely nine acres of land.
While the entire extended set up of conventional plants produces 150 lakh bags per day, the nine-acre plant will have an output of 200 lacs of Nano urea bottles per day. It means with lesser requirement of land and raw materials; the Nano plant would still be producing 50 thousand more bags/bottles.
Saluting the vision of IFFCO MD, Puri said Nano Urea has multiple benefits compared to the conventional urea. Besides saving water and curbing atmospheric pollution, the Nano particle also strengthens the plant as the Nano fed plants weathers storms much better than the ones without it, said Puri citing personal experience.
Puri also narrated in detail how the huge load of subsidy on the government will end with the acceptance of Nano Urea in the country. It bears recalling that IFFCO is planning to have eight Nano Urea Plants and Aonla is second after Kalol, where production is going on in a full-fledged manner.
