Bihar based Gopalganj District Central Cooperative Bank Chairman Mahesh Rai has been elected as the Chairman of Barhara PACCs, in elections held recently.
Rai, who is on the board of Biscomaun got 723 votes whereas his rival Rajesh Paswan got 28 votes.
In the elections there were four polling centres and about 1751 were eligible to cast the vote. But according to information coming to Indian Cooperative desk only 816 votes were cast.
A well-known cooperator in the state of Bihar, Rai could be seen in any cooperative event of the state along with Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Kumar Singh.
Rai is the son of former Member of Parliament Late Nagina Rai. The PACS elections took place after three years.
