Ex-chairman of Dudhsagar Dairy Vipul Chaudhary was arrested by the Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau from his Gandhinagar residence on Wednesday Night. He is alleged to be the kingpin of Rs 750 crore worth of scams during his tenure as Chairman in the past, media reports say.
Vipul whose fate has seen many ups and downs in the recent years, is originally a Congressman but he switched to BJP to become the Chairman of GCMMF. Later he had to vacate this as well as that of Mehsana dairy posts. He was also banned from contesting co-op elections for three years.
ACB Joint Director said that Vipul Chaudhary’s tenure was from 2005 to 2016 at Mehsana dairy and during this tenure, he committed more frauds totalling to more than Rs 750 crore.
Vipul Chaudhary’s decision to supply cattle feed to Maharashtra at Sharad Pawar’s goading, is also said to have caused losses worth crores of rupees.
