An MOU was signed between VAMNICOM and National Cooperative College, Mauritius, in which both training Institutes have agreed to cooperate and collaborate in the areas of training and education of cooperatives.
The MoU mandates sharing of knowledge-based activities which would cover participation of officials from both institutes to participate in short and long duration programs conducted by either party, collaboration in joint research for mutual benefit, cooperation in developing case studies for benefit of both parties, exchange information materials, publications, expertise and other related matter on the subject of common interest for advancement of cooperatives.
It is worth mentioning that Soomilduth Bholah, Minister of Industrial Development, SMEs & Cooperatives, Mauritius visited India along with other delegates on 22nd August 2022.
It bears recall that with the establishment of a new Ministry of Cooperation, VAMNICOM, as a National Institute is slated to play a crucial role in policy support, capacity building and international cooperation. It is an apex centre in India for Cooperative Management Training, Research and Consultancy and has over the years forged ties with other countries in the sphere of Cooperative training and education, says a press release issued by the organization.
Shri Sanjeev Coonjobeeharry, Director, NCC appreciated the strong ties between both institutions since 2017 when the first MoU was signed. He also stressed the need for youth to adopt the cooperative business model.
In his remarks on the occasion, Soomilduth Bholah stressed the fact that both countries have similar vision for the cooperative sector which provides the best opportunities to cooperatives to enhance their strength.
Dr. Hema Yadav, Director, VAMNICOM felicitated Soomilduth Bholah & other delegates on this occasion. This was reciprocated by the delegates from Mauritius.
