The average voting percentage for the election of Bassein Catholic Cooperative Bank was around 53 percent. Out of 80k voters, over 45k used their voting rights.
The shareholders associated with the bank turned up in large numbers on Sunday to cast their votes at all the 137 polling booths in several districts of Maharashtra.
Now the counting of votes will be held on Tuesday and the result will be announced on the same day.
79 candidates were left in the race for the elections of 21 seats on the board of directors of the bank. Three Panels-Ekta, Janhit & Parivartan and many independent candidates were in fray.
