Surat based SUMUL Dairy is planning to set up a state-of-the-art Dairy Plant with a 2.00 LLPD Capacity in Goa. Officials of the dairy cooperative titan met the re-elected Chief Minister for the purpose recently.
Senior directors, CEO, and other officials of the dairy cooperative met the Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant last week and urged him to provide a land on lease in the New Industrial Zone of Goa. Due to the last-minute engagement, Sumul Dairy Chairman Mansinh Patel was not present on the occasion.
Patel is planning to meet the Chief Minister personally in a couple of days. Talking to Indian Cooperative Patel said, ” Sumul will establish the Amul pattern of Dairy business in Goa and create employment for unemployed rural youth and make Goa self-sufficient in Dairy business.” Patel spoke at length on the benefits of igniting a dairy cooperative movement in Goa.
“In a bid to improve the socio-economic conditions of Dairy Farmers of Goa, Amul has announced plans to Increase the Procurement Price for Cow Milk by Rs. 2.00/- Per Litre and Buffalo Milk by Rs. 1.55 /- Per Litre effective from 01.04.2022”, he asserted.
On the occasion, the board members of the Sumul Dairy congratulated Sawant for taking oath as the Chief Minister of Goa for the 2nd consecutive term.
The Sumul Union Board also congratulated the chief minister on behalf of GCMMF for the continuous growth and progress of Goan cattle farmers and expressed desire to work together.
The Board members said they are willing to work with the state’s Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying for development and growth in the field of cattle breeding, latest Innovations and advancement in Feed and Fodder, along with the development of Model Dairy Farm in Goa to demonstrate activities like fodder development – sowing of Super Bullet grass, Calf Rearing, FIP Camps & Balanced Cattle Feed – Sumul Dan & Feed Supplements.
Readers would recall that recently Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah attended an event organized by SUMUL Dairy in Surat which was attended by more than 1 lakh people from the cooperative sector.
In the 2020-21 FY, Sumul Dairy had crossed the annual turnover of Rs 4138.77 crore, which is Rs 93.66 crore higher compared to the last year i.e. 2019-20.
