NCP leader Kesharbai Pawar became the first woman to be elected as the Chairman of the Pune District Cooperative Milk Association popularly known as Katraj Dairy, in an election held on Monday.
Rahul Divekar has been elected as the Vice-Chairman of the Dairy. Due to the trust of senior leader Sharad Pawar and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, she got an opportunity to become the Chairman, said a source.
It is to be noted that Kesharbai Pawar first joined the Katraj Dairy in 2000 as a director. She was elected as the director for two consecutive five-year terms.
Sharing the news through social media, Pune DCCB former Chairman Ramesh Thorat congratulated Mrs. Pawar and Divekar for becoming chairman and vice-chairman respectively.
