MP: Minister gives away NCDC Excellence Awards to co-ops

National Cooperative Development Corporation organized Regional Cooperative Excellence and Merit Award function in collaboration with Madhya Pradesh Cooperative Department on Wednesday and the awards were given away by the State Cooperative Minister Arvind Singh Bhadoria.

On the occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Ajit Kesari, Cooperative Commissioner Sanjay Gupta, NCDC Regional Director R K Mangala, State Cooperative Bank MD P S Tiwari, and others were present.

The awards were given away in different categories to the best performing PACCS Societies, Primary Credit Societies, Women Co-ops, and others. The winners were given cheques and mementos.

The first prize of Best Primary Agricultural Credit Co-operative Society (PACS) was given to Tribal-caste Sewa Co-operative Society Ltd, Gogawa, Khargone District, and the second prize to Sewa Cooperative Society Maryadit, Jam Sawali, Chhindwara District.

In the Best Primary Society (Credit) category, the first prize was given to Sadguru Credit Co-operative Society Ltd., Dhar District, and the second prize to Shri Gujarati Rami Mali Samaj Navayuk Sahakari Sanstha, Naugaon, Dhar District.

Whereas, in the field of Best Primary Society (Processing), the first prize was given to Primary Forest Produce Cooperative Society Ltd., Rehti, Sehore District, and in Best Women Cooperative Society category, the first prize bestowed on Shreyee Mahila Credit Co-operative Society, Indore district.

Addressing the gathering, Bhadoria said that the excellent work done by cooperative institutions will become an inspiration t for other co-ops to perform better.

Later on, he shared the details of the event through his Twitter wall and wrote, ” Today, ‘Regional Cooperative Excellence Merit Award-2021’ was given to various cooperative institutions. The event was organized in collaboration with the National Cooperative Development Corporation and Cooperative Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

In his remark, the Additional Chief Secretary underlined the importance of publicity for the works of the awarded co-ops as a success story so that other institutions can also replicate the same model to do better.

According to its website, NCDC provided cumulative financial assistance of Rs 8549.85 crore in Madhya Pradesh till 31.03.2021. Out of total cumulative assistance of Rs, 8549.85 crores, around 75% i.e. Rs.6449.13 crore assistance has been provided during the last 5 years.
