ET quotes Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma saying the cooperative movement in the state is getting stronger with the establishment of 300 cooperative societies with 50,000 farmers associated with them as members.
Sangma also said his govt is providing cooperatives with zero interest, working capital and capital grants.
“Meghalaya has made remarkable progress by promoting production of Lakadong turmeric, Piggery and Milk and expanding cultivation area”, said the CM.
