National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) has organized a training programme on scientific beekeeping in association with National Bee Board under National Beekeeping and Honey Mission at Nashik.
The training programme, which started on January 21 will continue for seven days till January 27, reads a tweet from the NDDB. The programme was inaugurated by MoS, Health and Family Welfare, Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar.
Earlier, NDDB had conducted a seven-day training program on scientific beekeeping at Katarva in Banaskantha district of Gujarat. National Bee Board and Banaskantha Milk Union under National Beekeeping and Honey Mission helped the NDDB in organizing the event.
It is worth a mention that the central govt sees beekeeping as one of the alternative sources of income for the farmers. Several cooperative bodies including Nafed are involved in helping farmers set up Honey FPOs.
