In a written reply by the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri Narendra Singh Tomar in Lok Sabha, he said the Government of India has taken various steps to increase the income of farmers.
He named some schemes including Agri-marketing Fund, Promotion of 10,000 FPOs, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojna (PMKSY), Implementation of National Bee Keeping Honey Mission (NBHM), Interest Subvention Scheme by providing Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Electronic National Agriculture Market (e- NAM) etc.
Tomar also referred to one lakh crore ‘Agri infrastructure fund’ which has been setup for post-harvest infrastructure.
With a view to promote export of agricultural produce from Gujarat in large quantities, Agriculture Export Policy, 2018 envisages development of clusters of various agri products i.e. banana, mango, potato, cumin and castor in different districts of Gujarat, he added.
