The leaders associated with Fisheries cooperatives of Maharashtra met the State Cabinet Minister Aadtiya Thackeray recently and asked him to provide a new space for the fish market.
Readers would recall that earlier activities of Maharashtra State Fishermen Cooperative Federation and other fish related works were being conducted from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Mandai, but it was recently demolished by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on the advice of Mumbai High Court.
The visiting delegation urged Junior Thackeray to provide the new space. Talking to Indian Cooperative President of State Fishery Federation Ramdas Sandhe said, ” The government is providing the space on the same location on a temporary basis by removing the debris of demolished buildings. And the new space is being made available at the Mahathma Phule Mandai which is just opposite to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj mandai “.
Meanwhile, sharing the details of the meeting through his twitter wall, Thackery wrote, ” Ramdas Sandhe, President of Maharashtra State Fishermen’s Co-operative Union, Balwantrao Pawar, President of Fresh Fish Suppliers Association and others met on the construction of a new fish market building at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Mandai.
