On the occasion of International Day of Cooperatives, IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi has congratulated fellow co-operators across the globe by tweeting his good wishes early morning on 3rd of July.
On the occasion Awasthi said a strong cooperative movement can strengthen the economy as well as the country. IFFCO MD tweeted, “Best wishes of CoopsDay, International Day Of Cooperatives to everyone. I congratulate all members of IFFCO & other cooperatives. Let’s together make cooperatives stronger to build a better world with a sustainable future during this pandemic.”
Readers would recall that International Day of Cooperatives is celebrated by the International Cooperative Alliance and United Nations on 1st Saturday of every year in the month of July. The theme of this year’s International Day of Cooperatives is “Rebuild better together”.
Meanwhile, in an exhaustive report enlisting the achievements of co-ops globally, ICA has praised the efforts of IFFCO in supporting the nation during the second wave of Covid-19.
“The Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative (IFFCO) built four plants in Kalol (Gujarat), Aonla and Phulpur (Uttar Pradesh) and Paradeep (Odisha) at a cost of INR 30 crore (£2.9m) to supply oxygen to hospitals for free”, ICA said.
