Considering the need of capacity building for FPOs, the NCUI has taken initiative and commenced training programs for FPOs of Madhya Pradesh recently. This is the first in the series and we aim to train as many FPOs as possible, declared NCCE Director V K Dubey.
The training revolved around discussions on different subjects like registration procedures under different acts especially in the cooperative sector. Focus was also laid on the requirement of papers, certificates including taxation, management procedures, etc.
Most of all, the training focused on the planning and execution of projects, functional management in enterprises, act rules of decision-making process, financial management of enterprises etc.
The sessions were addressed both by NCCE and guest faculties who are experts in different areas. This program was organized online on request of Smt. Aarti Bisaria, Member, Women Empowerment Committee of NCUI.
It was also decided that the next program will be organized physically. The participants appreciated the program and requested for more such programs in the future.
It bears recall that the Govt of India is promoting 10000 FPOs to increase the productivity of farmers. The prime focus of FPOs to establish enterprises to increase farm production, procurement, marketing, providing services to farmers and processing for value addition.
The aim is to raise the income of farmers by 2 times till 2022. These FPOs may be registered under Companies Act, 2013, Cooperative Act and Societies Act, 1860.
These enterprises must be managed professionally in accordance with the govt. norms & rules. Hence, the personnel and management board must be trained for proper running of the FPOs, reads a press release sent by the NCCE.
