Surendra Prabhakar, General Manager of Uttarakhand based Uttarkashi District Cooperative Bank has been found accused in the investigation, according to media reports.

The matter was investigated by Anand Shukla, Additional Registrar of Cooperation Department at the direction of the state cooperative minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat.

He has been accused of making money in the name of setting up the solar power plant, the dream project of Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.

There were complaints against Prabhakar for misusing his position, harassing the bank’s customer and damaging the bank’s reputation and demanding money.

It bears recall that Amod Panwar, a resident of Uttarkashi had complained about the matter to cooperative minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat. The complainant alleged that a bribe was demanded in lieu of the bank loan of the project.
