The Maharashtra State Cooperative Sugar Factories Federation and the National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories have sought an extension of the buffer stock subsidy scheme NITI Ayog would like to be scrapped, reports Financial Express.
The scheme is likely to expire soon.
The union cabinet had approved the creation of a 40 lakh tonn sugar buffer stock.
Meanwhile, Prakash Naiknavare MD National federation of cooperative sugar factories says the NITI Ayog’s recommendation about scrapping the scheme is not yet in discussion.
