The New Indian Express reports Odisha govt intends spending Rs 900 crore on rehabilitating migrant workers returning home.
The state government is preparing a panchayat-wise list of beneficiaries which will be given to Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS), for registration as new members for financial help.
Meanwhile, PACS and District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) have been instructed to form joint liability groups (JLGs) from among NREGA card holders and migrant labourers.
Nabard has has supported the govt with Rs 1,500 crore for the short-term cooperative credit structure of the State.
