IANS reports the government is slowly opening the grain markets to ensure the food supply chain is not affected during the lock down period.
NAFED, has made available 35 lakh tonnes of pulses, 18 lakh tonnes of gram and several other agricultural produce from its warehouse spread across the country.
The NAFED MD is quoted saying his organization is supplying a million tonnes of pulses and gram every day for the traders. The Central government has called upon state governments to open the grain markets.
