New Indian Express reports Sattupalli police in Telangana registered cases against news men working for an online Telugu daily for allegedly asking Rs 30 lakh as bribe from M Vijay Babu, former Chairman of Khamman District Cooperative Central Bank.
The three journalists have been booked under Sections 384 (extortion) and 500 (defamation) of the IPC and taken into custody.
The news website had been putting out baseless stories against the DCCB chairman.
