The agri-cooperative NAFED has donated Rs 5 crore to the ‘PM Cares Fund’ to support the government in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.
Nafed Managing Director Sanjeev Chadda personally handed over a Cheque of Rs 5 crore to Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Tuesday.
Announcing the development, NAFED social media handle wrote, “The MD, NAFED handed over a cheque for Rs. 5 Crore as donation to the PM CARES fund as a humble contribution to mitigate the situation arising out of the COVID-19 Pandemic”.
Besides, Nafed has also started the distribution of pulses, during the national lock down, for the needy. “Nafed is proud to serve the nation by distributing pulses to 80 crore poor people in the country. Distribution of Pulses started with Punjab and Rajasthan today!!”, Nafed tweeted.
