New India Express reports Karnataka Co-operative Milk Federation Limited (KMF) exports skimmed milk powder and butter in bulk to several states in the country.
The federation has a market share of 70 per cent in Karnataka and procures 75 lakh litres of milk per day from producers.
KMF sources say the federation is financially in a good position in that the state govt. provides the incentive of Rs 5 per litre of milk for producers.
KMF also exports its products to Bihar State Milk Cooperative Federation.
