Media reports say Telangana has restructured PACS to strengthen the rural credit structure in the state. The govt has decided to sanction PACS for mandals which are not yet covered by PACS.
The Agriculture Secretary is quoted saying there is a need to strengthen the cooperative system for agricultural development in Telangana.
The state govt is of the view that allowing PACS to enter into non-credit and other allied business such as deposit mobilisation, offering locker and godown facilities will make them viable and self-sustainable.
