Nashik based Namco Bank has handed over a cheque of Rs 11 lakh to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis towards the Maharashtra Chief Minister Relief Fund with a view to helping the flood victims in the state.
The bank chairman Sohan lal Bhandari personally handed over the cheque to the Chief Minister at Dhulia. Later,Bhandari shared the news with Indian Cooperative on the phone.
“This is not the first time we have contributed our bit for the victims of flood but on several occasion we have made such contributions without any hesitation, ’, informed Bhandari.
Besides Shelke, the bank’s Vice Chairman, Narendra Pawar, director Hemant and others were present on the occasion.
Earlier, several UCBs including Saraswat Bank had handed over a cheque of one crore rupees to Maharashtra CM Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis towards the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for helping the flood affected people in the state.
The recent floods in Maharashtra have damaged crops on over 4 lakh hectares in Western and Northern parts of the State. Sugarcane, cotton, rice, soyabean, tur dal, groundnut are among the worst hit.
