A tripartite agreement recently was signed between the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Vamnicom and the apex body of fisheries cooperatives Fishcopfed at Hyderabad. The objective of this agreement is to train the fishery cooperators.
The agreement shall be valid for one year initially and be extended thereafter on mutual consent. The news was shared by Fishcopfed MD B.K.Mishra to Indian Cooperative.
NFDB will consider giving financial support to Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (Vamnicom), Pune to organize training programs, workshops and research studies etc. on fisheries for fishery cooperative members as recommended by the Fishcopfed.
Reacting to the agreement Mishra said, “This type of synergy shall benefit the poor fishery cooperative members. There are over 20000 fishery cooperative societies in the country with a membership base of around 3.2 million”, he informed.
“The fisheries cooperators shall immensely contribute to Blue Revolution if properly trained and adequately supported under various Blue Revolution schemes”, he said.
