Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh will file his nomination papers from Purvi Champaran Lok Sabha Constituency today. After filling the nomination papers he will address a rally at Gandhi Maidan.
“I am lucky that the people of Motihari elected me five times and I have contested the election 8 times and this is my 9th time. Every time, 80-85% voters cast their votes in favor of me”, Singh said in a video shared on his Facebook wall.
There is a grand alliance between the RJD, Congress, RLSP, VIP and others parties in Bihar. Rashtriya Lok Samata Party has fielded Young leader Akash Kumar Singh from Motihari seat. Singh is the son of former minister Akhilesh Prasad Singh. The latter fought the election against Radha Mohan Singh in 2009 but was defeated.
In his 5 year tenure Radha Mohan Singh has been credited with making reforms in the Agriculture sector especially strengthening the cooperative movement of the country. We are sure he will win the election with huge margins, says one of the voters from Motihari.
The voting for this seat will be held on 12th May. The counting of votes will take place on 23rd May. There were 1,452,963 voters in the Purvi Champaran Lok Sabha Constituency in 2014 elections, out of which 788,561 are male and the remaining 380,568 are female.
