Pune based Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM) is hosting its Convocation Ceremony on Monday for the graduating students of Post Graduate Diploma in Management for 2017-19. The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu will be the chief guest. It is the 25th batch graduating from the prestigious co-op management institute.
Working under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Vamnicom says in a press release “The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has consented to be the chief guest at the Convocation ceremony of PGDM-ABM Programme of the prestigious national cooperative institute, VAMNICOM. The ceremony will be presided over by Governor of Maharashtra, Shri. C H. Vidyasagar Rao.”
Ministry officials are also expected to participate, reads a mail. “The occasion of convocation 2019 will also be graced by Guests of Honour Sanjay Agarwal, Secretary and Smt Vasudha Mishra, Additional Secretary Chairperson of VAMNICOM. Other dignitaries from the Management Committee will also be present for the event”, the release reads.
At the Convocation, 59 students will be conferred the Post Graduate diplomas and certificates in Agri-Business Management. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded to the top three ranking students in order of merit.
Over the years, cooperative training institute, VAMNICOM has emerged as one of the prestigious Agri Business B schools in the country. Its PGDM ABM course is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. Association of Indian Universities has accorded this course as equivalent to M.B.A. degree.
The success of Vamnicom could be understood from the fact that most of the graduating students secure placements across various sectors such as Finance, Agri-Input, Microfinance, Cooperatives etc. This year some of the prime recruiters are HDFC Bank, Federal Bank, VNR Seeds, Dhanuka Agritech Bharat Financial Inclusion & many others.
The Director of Vamnicom Dr. K.K.Tripathy, IES says that the students are looking forward to receive awards and PG Diploma Certificates from the Hon’ble Vice President of India in the presence of Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra and other dignitaries.
