GCMMF MD RS Sodhi accompanied by the members of the Board of Directors of Jammu and Kashmir Milk Producers’ Cooperative Limited (JKMPCL) met Khurshid Ahmed Ganai Advisor to the state governor and informed him about the progress of dairy development projects being executed in the state, reports Greater Kashmir.
Official sources say, the advisor was informed that Milk procurement of JKMPCL increased from 11.8 lakh kg per year in 2004-05 to 121.8 lakh kg per year, which showed growth of 930 percent in the last 14 years.
During the year 2017-18, JKMPCL procured 121.8 lakh kg milk per year from more than 17,000 milk producer members through 450 Village Dairy Cooperative Societies and there are 230 VDCS operational in Jammu and 220 VDCS in Srinagar, the Amul MD told the advisor.
