In what can be termed as a partial solace Bombay high court has permitted Amul to air its ice cream TV commercials but, sans content over frozen dessert and shots of vegetable oil flowing in a cup with frozen dessert.
The court did not accept Amul’s argument that its TV commercials (TVCs) did not amount to disparaging frozen desserts.
GCMMF that owns Amul had challenged an earlier single bench order that had ruled it guilty of disparaging frozen desserts.
Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) had filed a case in 2017 seeking immediate removal of what is called the “misleading Amul ice cream advertisement”.
