Arun Kumar Jain and Shri Narayan Aggarwal have been elected as the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Vaish Cooperative Adarsh Bank in Daryanganj, New Delhi. Arun Kumar Jain has replaced Mukesh Kumar Jain.
The polling was held on Sunday in the premises of Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Lancer Road, Delhi.
There were three candidates including Arun Kumar Jain, Mukesh Kumar Jain and Kiran Tyagi fighting for the post of Chairman.
Arun Kumar Jain received 1351 votes whereas his rivals Mukesh Kumar Jain and Kiran Tyagi got 1190 and 232 votes respectively. Over 2900 voters in all cast their votes.
While the Vice-Chairman candidate from Arun Kumar Jain Panel, Shri Narayan Aggarwal received 1370 votes, his rival Satish Parakh got only 1180 votes.
Talking to this correspondent after the results the newly elected Chairman Arun Kumar Jain said “We have won the bank election and from my panel nine candidates including Chairman, Vice-Chairman, one Women Director and six Directors have won but only three could not succeed.”
“Earlier too, I had been the chairman for two terms and had done a lot for the growth of the bank. This result is appreciation of good works done by our team in the past”, Jain claimed.
After the declaration of the result, Gupta was profusely garlanded and cheered by his supporters. An emotional Gupta expressed thanks to his supporters.
“After taking over the charge, our first work is to slash the interest rate of loan to attract more and more customers. We have 11 branches in the NCR region”, he informed this correspondent.
It bears recall that the filling of nomination papers was held on 6th March and 58 members filed their nomination papers. But on the day of scrutiny of nominations held on 7th March, 53 candidates’ nomination papers were found to be valid. And on the day of withdrawal on 8th March, about 35 candidates were left in the fray.
T.Tarun Kumar had been appointed as the returning officer to oversee the election process.
