There seems to be no end of troubles for Sharad Pawar’s nephew and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. While the burn of Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank fiasco has hardly healed , in yet another incident, one of his so-called aids has been implicated in a cooperative society cheating case to the tune of Rs 43 crores.
Former chairman of Someshwar cooperative sugar mill, Shahji Kakade has been named as one of the suspects who are alleged to have misappropriated Rs 43 crore through a cooperative society. They are said to have provided bogus documents and securities in order to swindle Rs 43 crores.
The police said the suspects had allegedly taken Rs 43.21 crore as loan from the Pune District Central Co-operative Bank by submitting forged documents and securities.
Bhagwan Bhotare , the government auditor lodged a first information report at Wadgaon Nimbalkar police station in Baramati in Pune against the suspects. No arrests have been made so far. They have been charged with cheating, criminal breach of trust, misappropriation and forgery.Investigations are going on and arrest are likely soon.
