S.R.Satishchandra, President of Mangalore based co-operative CAMPCO met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to discuss problems being faced by Arecanut growers in the state.
According to a press release sent by the Coffee and chocolate cooperative, the Chief Minister has assured Campco President that the state will not ban Arecanut in Uttar Pradesh. Yogi also assured him that will look into the matter of cess being levied by the state government and arrive at a positive decision.
“I would stand by Areca Growers and positively respond to all their problems”, said the Chief Minister, claims the press release.
Satishchandra was accompanied by H.S.Manjappa, President, Karnataka Rajya Adike Marata Sahakari Niyamitha (KRAMPS) & Member Khadi & Village Industries Commission. The meeting took place in New Delhi last week, reads the press release.
The two cooperators also met Siddarthnath Singh, Health Minister, Uttar Pradesh.
