Madhya Pradesh has been in news for all the wrong reasons in the recent past. Now there is a media report of huge catch of onion disappearing from the state. All lenses are focused on the MP State Cooperative Marketing Federation.
The Cooperative Federation had procured 27 thousand metric tonnes of onion this year but over 17 thousand quintals of onion are missing. The state govt has set up a five member committee to look into the matter, reports Hindustan Times.
The alleged scam came to light during a routine checking of records of two mandis in Bhopal by food and civil supply corporation.
Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Marketing Federation and food and civil supplies corporation have been asked to provide all details and documents related to procurement, storage, disposal and selling of the onions.
