New health policy will help farmers: IFFCO MD
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Hailing the new Health Policy presented on Thursday in Parliament by the Union Minister J P Nadda, Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi of the country’s largest cooperative organization IFFCO said it is sure to make an impact on the rural health of the country.

IFFCO has been organizing health camps in each of MD’s visit to various locations in the country. Awasthi himself supervises the health centres and encourages farmers to take basic precautions through regular health check-ups.

Lauding the new policy MD tweeted” This #NationalHealthPolicy2017 will certainly make an impact on #Rural health of country. Best & efficient health services for #farmers.”

He also congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi “Heartiest congratulations to PM @narendramodi @JPNadda for bringing a new revolutionary #NationalHealthPolicy2017 to make #SwasthaBharat.

The new Health Policy 2017 presented Thursday seeks to reorient and strengthen the public health systems. The policy also looks at strengthening partnership with the private sector.

“As a crucial component, it proposes raising public health expenditure to 2.5 per cent of the GDP in a time-bound manner. The policy advocates a progressively incremental assurances based approach,” said Nadda while making a policy statement in Parliament.

Experts say there is a discernible shift in the health policy as it focuses on comprehensive primary health care packages compared to the selective one in the past.
