In his quest for fund for carrying out activities of training and education, NCCT Secretary Mohan Mishra has got an offer from the Banking Institute of Rural Development (BIRD) for organizing Zonal Workshop on sensitization of C-PEC members.
A letter written by DGM of BIRD to NCCT and a virtual copy of it forwarded to Indian Cooperative by the latter reads” you may kindly recall that we had discussed and agreed to organize zonal conferences in collaboration with NCCT. We shall be glad if you initiate actions towards organizing one such conference.”
Earlier, NCCT had through its secretary participated in the 11th meeting of Accreditation Board of C-PEC held in BIRD in Lucknow. Mishra is said to have shared his idea of organizing zonal conferences to sensitize members. Among others, the meeting was attended by Prof Vipul, a faculty of IIM Lucknow.
Speaking on the occasion Mohan Mishra had drawn attention to the role of NCCT in capacity building and training of the Faculty members. There is need to constantly upgrade their technical knowledge and training delivery skills in order to improve capacity building in the cooperative sector, he said.
He further said 80% of faculties in the institutes of NCCT have been certified after successful completion of CTFC Course. He appreciated the reading materials developed by C-PEC for the purpose and said it could go a long way in benefitting the trainees.
NCCT has a number of ICMs and RICMs spread across states in the country. It has emerged as the nodal agency of training in the cooperative sector with even Union Minister Radha Mohan lauding its positive role once in a while. He recently announced proposal to involve Shahkar Bharati in preparation of NCCT training modules. Sahakar Bharati is an RSS arm in the field of cooperatives.
On the other hand, Mishra has been active talking to state govts to contribute to ICMs in whatever way possible.” My argument is that ICM trains cooperators of states and therefore states must be made partners in the venture,” says Mishra. He has reportedly been successful in getting some fund from states including Tamil Nadu and Odisha.
