Mansukh Mandaviya the union state minister was full of praise for Kribhco Chairman Chandra Pal Singh Yadav and called him a messiah of farmers in a meeting held on the eve of announcement of a JV between Kribhco and Morocco based OCP in New Delhi on Friday.
“My friend and member of Rajya Sabha Chandra Pal Singh Yadav does not lose a chance of batting for the cause of farmers in the Upper House should the situation warrant, said Mandaviya. He has been constantly raising the issues being faced by farmers in the country in the House, he added.
Despite keeping a tight schedule the Minister made to the event at the Taj Man Singh Hotel in Delhi and Kribhco officials including MD Samaba Siva Rao were full of praise for him. Mandaviya was invited as the chief guest on the occasion and he lauded the role being played by Kribhco.
Readers would note that on Friday Kribhco and OCP entered into a 50:50 joint venture to develop a large scale greenfield NPK fertilizer plant in the port city of Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. The fertilizer plant would require an initial investment of $ 230 million and will have an annual production capacity of 1.2 million MT of NPK fertilizer.
Rs 500 crore is being shelled out by the two JV partners- half each while remaining Rs 1000 crore would come through bank loans, MD Rao said in reply to a media query. He also said Moroccan rocks contain high grade sulphuric acid.
Lauding the role of cooperatives such as IFFCO and Kribhco Minister Mandaviya said cooperatives are helping the farmers and through them the country.
