Mohammed Sharief Niaz, former J&K Minister and others have alleged that the election of cooperative societies in Bhallessa area in Jammu has been held in violation of all norms and rules, reports Daily Excelsior.
The former minister charged the govt with indulging in a news blackout about the cooperative elections.
Opposition politicians say the undemocratic way of holding elections has given rise to tension. There are depts of the govt doing things that are only making the situation worse, they fear.
Niaz has demanded that election of autonomous bodies like cooperative societies be conducted in a fair and free way and political interference should be stopped forthwith.
