Gujarat based National Institute of Cooperative Management (NICM) organized a three day training workshop for women chairmen and directors of different cooperative societies on the campus on Wednesday.
There were 40 participants who attended the inaugural ceremony. In this three day workshop, participants will learn about their role and responsibility in the management of cooperative societies as well as policies and schemes of the state and the central Governments.
In his inaugural speech, a veteran cooperator from Gujarat Dileepbhai Sanghani said this training programme will give a platform for experience sharing and mutual learning. Through this three day training programme trainees can apply the knowledge gained in managing their societies, he noted. .
He further said government should focus on cooperatives and help build a strong cooperative industry so that employment opportunities could be generated. The govt. should refrain doing things that weaken the cooperative movement. Citing the examples of Amul and other successful co-operatives he said they are doing well because of the government support.
Shri Jairambhai Patel Institute of Business Management and Computer Applications (Formerly known as National Institute of Cooperative Management), managed by National Institute of Cooperative Management Society (NICM Society) has been incorporated by the Gujarat State Cooperative Bank in 1995, claimed the NICM website.
