NAFSCOB Chairman and NAFED Vice Chairman Dileepbhai Sanghani met His Highness Mr Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala Governor of Karnataka in Banglore Raj Bhawan last week and sought his help in resolving the issue of Nafed’s revival.
It was basically a courtesy call on the governor but when a cooperator meets any high government functionary he inevitably talks about cooperatives, added Sanghani.
“A supporter of the cooperative movement the governor was curious to know about the revival of NAFED. ” I apprised him of all the developments including my recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has promised to revive the agri-cooperative”, Sanghani underlined.
”We also gave him the details of discussions with former Minister of State for agriculture Mohan Bhai Kundariya on the issue. The situation is not bleak”, I told the governor.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Sanghani urged Mr Vajubhai to talk with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, he informed Indian Cooperative.
One issue that came up for discussion during the meeting was the role of the apex body of State Cooperative Banks NAFSCOB in the agriculture sector, stated Dileep Bhai.
Being deeply involved in the issue of Nafed revival, Dileepbhai Sanghani had written letters to Union Finance Minister Arun Jailtey to spare some time for cooperators from his busy schedule to discuss issues like income tax burden, budget allocation for cooperatives, NAFED revival and other such issues and we hope to hear soon from him, he said to this correspondent.
