Maharashtra chief minister has said necessary reforms need to be carried out in the cooperative sector to free the sector from graft and inefficiency. Only then could cooperatives work for the welfare of society, reports Indian Express.
Maharashtra government’s decision to disqualify directors in the cooperative sector accused of financial mismanagement, for two terms have been attacked by the Congress and NCP combine.
However, chief minister said the government’s role was confined to putting the system in place and not dislodge anyone, he asserted.
