Hindu reports apart from conducting training programmes for various rural, financial and governmental and non-governmental organizations, Mangaluru-based Bankers’ Institute of Rural Development set up by Nabard conducted 17 training programmes for banks including cooperative banks.
For the first time, the institute conducted training programmes on producers’ organisations and on ‘financing of joint liability groups’ at Port Blair in the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar.
A press release by BIRD said that 84 of the training programmes were conducted in-house at BIRD’s campus in Mangaluru and 28 were conducted at various locations in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.
