A co-operative sugar factory with crushing capacity of 2,500 metric tonnes will soon be set up in Chhattisgarh’s Kabirdham district order to speed up development of agro-based industries in the state, reports Press Trust of India.
The factory would cover a total area of over 80 hectares and its construction will cost Rs 163.12 crore.
Sources say over 10,000 farmers will be the factory’s stock-holders.
The factory will benefit about 20,000 farmers living in Pandaria region of Kabirdham, besides Mungeli and Bemetara districts.
