Co-operative bank employees will observe a fast on Friday seeking the implementation of a pension scheme and early recruitment of personnel to fill up more than 6,000 vacancies in various co-operative banks, reports Hindu.
According to a statement from the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Bank Employees Association, “If the fast is not going to draw the attention of the government, then we will have to resort to strikes.” As per the statement, only one-third of the sanctioned strength of employees is on rolls, and in another two years many of them are due to retire.
