If there is a will there is a way. The Jabalpur based Shubhkarni Mahila Swarojgar Sehakari Sanstha has proved this adage once again.
Started about half a decade ago, the sahakari sanstha is busy training women to make them financially self-reliant. And they do it without seeking any media publicity.
They have already trained close to 800 women in the job of tailoring, agarbatti-making and related skills. They now are all self-employed contributing income for their families.
The prime mover of the show is Sarita Patel. Patel is happy that what she started five years ago is bearing the fruit today. “They have all got employment”, she wrote in a mail to Indian Cooperative after she heard about this portal.
She wrote to us in the hope of getting some financial aid as she plans to diversify and expand her novel experiment. “Humari sanstha aapse judkar mahilao ko or aage badana chahati hai. humara aapse nivedan hai ki aap mahilao ko sakshum banane mai humari madad kare’, her words.
This is Narendra Modi’s Skill India in action. Despite govt, despite big financier; small people with big visions are changing lives. And for the better. Indian Cooperative lends its full support to the likes of Sarita Patel.
