Talking to Indian Cooperative, Mr R S Sodhi Managing Director of GCMMF said Amul is all set to launch India’s first branded lactose-free milk in a month.
India’s largest dairy cooperative Amul is though yet to work out the final pricing. This would be the first branded lactose-free milk in the country, Sodhi added.
Talking to Indian Cooperative Sodhi says once the option is available, a significant portion of consumers in the country would opt for it. The lion’s share of GCMMF’s turnover comes from liquid milk sales but premium products like lactose-free milk (in tetra-packs) are likely to add to the topline, he says.
