Private terrace is a confusing term

I am resident of a society in Thane, Maharashtra. I have a flat on fifth floor and one more room on 6th floor with access from my own flat and private terrace.

To stop leakage problem of  society,  it is proposed that shed may be built on terrace. I would like to know which expenses should be borne by me? Please give bye law or rule which supports your opinion. Expenses for private terrace and room on 6th floor is being taken from me. Please note our bldg. is 5th storied with my room and terrace on 6th floor, common teerace on 6th floor and private terrace of another member on 6th floor, but no room.

“PRIVATE TERRACE” is a confusing term. Is this terrace not covered by your flat purchase agreement? If it is then the question of constructing shed is to be decided by you alone and not by the Society. And if you decide to construct it better get prior written approval of the Thane  Municipal Corporation.

If it the price of the so-called Private Terrace is not paid by  you, let the society (Management take decision approval of TMC and apportion the  expenses over all the flats.

In no Model Bye Laws Private Terrace is mentioned. My view is based on pure logic which can be inferred from Bye laws generally.
